The ookie is an avid track rider and passionate motorcyclist. He started riding in June of 2004 on his first bike, a 2002 black Suzuki SV650. His first trackday was in April 2005 on his SV. That year he attended 5 trackdays; he had so much fun that now it's not only his main hobby but also his passion.
He was, however, getting tired of being passed on the straights by bigger bikes (the SV has about 70hp) only to catch the exact same bikes that just passed him in the corners. So in September 2005 he purchased a 2004 Suzuki GSXR600 (about 103hp). The ookie has been riding this little gem of a bike ever since, and became a track only bike in late 2006.
He started videoing his trackdays back in 2006 after purchasing his GSXR600. The original idea was to use the video's as an educational tool to help in improving his riding ability at the track. But just after making his first video he quickly realized how much fun it was to film and edit this small world of super friendly, open people that very few people know or understand: A world simply known as... 'trackdays'.
If you are completely new to this world it's recommended that you watch One Down, Five Up. It's a bit long (9 minutes) but covers pretty well what the entire experience is like at the track. If you want the shorter more 'high energy' version you should watch Trackdays which is under 3 minutes long. Both give you a pretty damn good idea of what you're getting into if you're interested in turning a wheel at the track.
Race tracks the ookie has filmed and ridden at include:
Pacific Raceways (Kent, WA)
Portland International Raceway (Portland, OR)
Thunderhill Raceway (Willows, CA)
Miller Motorsports Park (Tooele, UT)
Outside of the trackday world the ookie has dabbled in some street riding and non-motorcycle videos which you will find mingled amongst the track vids.
